Dear Diary,
I recently celebrated my birthday in May and I am beyond thankful so see yet another year of life.
As I get older, I am truly realizing and appreciating how important it is to follow you dreams and never let anyone tell you that you can't accomplish your goals. I have been through so much this past year, so sometimes I don't feel like myself. Aside from personal issues, I put a lot of pressure of myself that honestly has not been healthy. However, through prayer and the support of my family and absolutely amazing friends, I was able to enjoy my special day and leave the stresses and anxiety behind...
That being said, this is a HAPPY post so let's get to the good stuff!

If you have not heard of Toronto, shoe designer Jennifer Le, stop what you are doing and check her out - www.iamjenniferle.com @iamjenniferle ! For all my fashionista's who love bold glam pieces, you will absolutely fall in love.
I first came across her line in 2015. I love the feeling of finding a designer who you feel are designing pieces just for you; finding pieces that completely match your personality and style. That was #IAMJENNIFERLE line is for me. It exudes female empowerment, not only because of the designs, but because of her story. Quitting her job, saving up, taking risks, and most of all following her dreams.
On April 1st, Jennifer held her first pop-up shop here in Toronto, so you know ya girl could not miss it. I had the pleasure of meeting Jennifer who is so sweet!
Walking into the pop-up and seeing all of these shoes that I had only seen online was like a dream - so much glitz, glam, and fur! After much debate, I finally decided to go with my first love, the Devyn Studded Boot. Let me be the first to tell you, that once you put these babies on, you immediately are a walking statement piece.

For this birthday look, I stayed true to my love for glam grunge looks with a dash of professional elevation. I came across the shimmery black body and blazer at H&M, which is one of my absolute favourite places to shop. I bought the pink skirt from a boutique in fashion district, downtown Toronto. In light of this celebratory event, I thought it would be the perfect accent. Per usual, I love to finish my looks with gold accessories. Truly loved this look and had an amazing time shooting it. Celebrating another year of life!

For this look I did a quick wash and go with Aphogee Clurlific! Curl Definer as my styler. It has become a staple in my curly hair routine, leaving me with poppin' HD curls. The natural sunlight really accentuates my highlights and curls, which I love! With a soft glam 'no makeup' look, the overall finish had a royal Nubian effect #homage.
Overall, I had a wonderful birthday celebration and hope you vibed with this looks.
