Dear Diary,
Lately I've been reminiscing about my birthday trip last May to Riviera Maya, Mexico. It was my first time visiting the country and it left me speechless with its beauty and incredible Mayan history. We stayed at the Grand Sunset Princess Resort in Playa Del Carmen. From the food to the entertainment it was such an amazing experience.
OUTFIT DETAILS
Of course being in such a beautiful country, my outfits consisted of comfortable shoes, light clothing, bright tropical colours and a dash of floral patterns.
Outfit #1:
My favourite piece in particular was these neon pair or low heeled sandals from Call It Spring, purchased last year on sale. I first bought these in beige to wear to work. They are super comfortable and look amazing with culottes, summer dresses, skirts, you name it. The neon colour added the perfect amount of pop to my outfits in Mexico. Pairing them with a royal blue chiffon skirt and a mix matched bikini from American Apparel, truly harmonized with my tropical surroundings, finishing with a simple gold bodychain - staple for me!
Outfit #2:
Kimono's are a must for sunny vacay's! Depending on the style, they are so versatile and can be paired with swim and casual wear. I purchased this white floral embroidered Kimono from H&M. What I loved about it aside from the embroidery was the fringe detailing, one of my many obsessions.  I paired this with a 3D floral bikini set from American Apparel with light denim Levi's jean shorts, and of course my neon sandals.

There is no such thing as enough slides during the summer. I am all for ready-to-go wear, which is just a fancy way of saying I'm lazy at times. I purchased these Alexander Wang slides during a Holt Renfrew sale last year. Of course, I have an obsession with black, but what captured my attention was the mesh, as I am all for texture, which you will come to see. They are very comfortable and is a perfect addition to a casual look yet still remain chic.
